as ugly as this was, it was a win. it would be worse if it was ugly with a loss.
I'm still hoping these kids develop as the year continues.

Yeah, if he had stayed in the game we might have lost.

Mustangs have much work to do and need dramatic improvement immediately. We will take the win; however, it did little to inspire confidence.

Still don't get why Padron isn't playing. 2 bad series on the road against the #8 team does not justify benching the QB who has a year and a half running this offense. If anything playing teams like UTEP, NW State and Memphis are all good confidence builders to get his rhythm back.

A win is a win but still, winning like this should not be happening.

you know, this is still better than having to win the game on the last play of the game. maybe, there won't be a quantum leap in the overall play of the team (even though we all want that). maybe, they just get gradually better each year, until we really get a killer qb.

bottom line is that SMU is 1-0 in CUSA play, but...

this group has 2 weeks to figure things out...the schedule then gets brutal and if we play like this, we will be looking at 4 losses in a row starting with that trip to cowtown

The cause of Padron being benched is not only 2 bad series on the road against the 8 team in the country...it has been a long time coming..his inability to make the correct pre snap read and holding onto the ball too long (caused by inability to make the proper read) has much more to do with it...JJ McD might not be the answer everyone is hoping for, but he does make the right reads and know where to go with the ball. If receivers don't fumble the ball twice while driving, we put more 10-14 points on the board and the offensive production doesnt look so terrible

McDermott does appear to make good reads...he's just not very accurate with his throws...hopefully the result of timing with the 1st team guys???

And Pardon did not do well tonight. HE held the ball too long and got sacked. Let Dermott have the NW State game to tune up since this is only his second game.

not even close

What boggles my mind is that there are people who actually thought he WAS the answer...me thinks a high correlation between those posters believing in JJMcD and Diamond-in-the-Rough commitments
