SOC power forwardSouth Oak Cliff power forward Kevin Rogers has a new list of schools, according to his HS coach: Baylor, Illinois, SMU and Texas A&M.
Coach says he has no leader at this point, and might take a visit to SMU this weekend. Come on, Coach Tubbs! Work your magic!
This could be huge. I read on some site that someone out there considers this guy the #15 power forward in the COUNTRY. Word is he can run, rebound and score.
Are we signing three guys this year? Four?
This shows you how quickly things change in the recruiting world. In three weeks we have gone from being in his top three and receiving high interest-to not being in his top three and getting no interest-to now being in his top four with medium interest. My guess is that Rogers is Coach Tubbs #1 recruiting priority and he is receiving the full-court press from SMU. This kid is a national top 50 player and one of the best PF in the country. He would be a HUGE get. If Kevin reads this, remember: SMU is in Dallas, Baylor in Waco. Dallas is your hometown, Baylor is 100 miles away. At SMU you will get a great education with BEAUTIFUL girls everywhere, at Baylor you will be in Waco. BTW, did I mention that Baylor is in Waco?
LA This guy is a player. He impressed all on hte AAU team.
I just hope your comparison doesn't run him off. What if he likes to stay home on weekend nights and likes ugly girls. He may want a quiet place to play. If so, the Waco graveyard would be right. Then again, he appears to be very much alive so we have a good chance. Bamba and he could be the start of something very good. I sure wish he would bring his buddy CJ with him too.
Wow, what's with all the Baylor bashing? Having degrees from both schools, I can say that both are very good academic institutions and have more than their share of beautiful women on campus.
Baylor has its share of advantages as well: beautiful campus, excellent basketball facilities, a great conference affiliation and a very talented, energetic, young coaching staff that is bringing in very highly-rated recruits. I'm sure that Rogers could care less about what we post on an internet bulletin board and will choose a school based on what's best for his situation.
commitmentAn inside source has told me that if we post 25 messages in this thread, he has agreed to commit to SMU.
