Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12Board of Regents at OU are unanimous in leaving the Big 12 and taking little brother OSU with them regardless of PAC 12's interest in Texas. Texas wants to stay in Big 12 as LHN would make a move to the PAC highly unlikely. Chip Brown states that the move could be official by the end of the month.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12i'm not believing this until t boone verifies it.

![]() Good or bad for our short term BCS prospects? Can the BE be far behind for some of the scraps? TU goes independent? ![]() Go Ponies!!

ken star isn't going to like this. not one bit.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12
Anyone that claims to know is full of it. Just sit back and enjoy the fireworks, hoping that your house doesn't burn down in the process.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12By the say, SB Nation isn't any different than Bleacher Report. Until I see some legit sources (other than one random tweet from Kirk Bohls), I don't believe any of it.
Movement is going to occur, but this is all still background noise.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12Just to have fun with the background noise, that would leave in the Big12: Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, K-State, Missouri, Texas, and TTech.
I can see Texas trying to keep the Big12 together since it would be the 900lb gorilla in the room, but I imagine there would be a few more teams raided by other conferences as the conference is now hanging by a thread, tv money will go down, and they are all subject to UT's whims. UT could go independent if it is unwilling to shake that LHN albatross around its neck. Missouri is a prime target for any conference as it has no little sister tied to it like Kansas (Big10 or SEC). Big East could add more kick to its football schools with Kansas, K-State, and Baylor. They could add Iowa State or may be still waiting for Villanova to make the move up, or add someone else to get to 12. Not sure what happens to Tech as it is so far from every BCS conference that would be a possible suitor, if it doesn't tag along with UT to the Pac12. Will be interesting to see what happens. This may just be posturing by OU to get UT divvy up the revenue more evenly, but LHN has severely hurt the Big12 as it cripples there chance of having a conference network. If the Big12 does die, I wish we could get added to either the ACC or Big East with a swarm of former Big12 teams. Baylor and SMU in the ACC? Don't think SEC is looking to make us there Western Divison private school like Vandy is in the east.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12We are going to be in C-USA. Our best shot is a hybrid conference to gain AQ status.
Let's get real here - no existing AQ conference is going to add us any time soon.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12i know it sounds odd but ou and tamu have a friendly relationship. ou was never close to ut. when tamu decided to leave then ou got cold feet about the big q 12 real fast. they don't want to go to the sec because of all the dirty recruiting (i know they are one to talk) plus they like the academics of the pac 12. colorado doesn't want them but i doubt they have much clout in the pac 12.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12Is it just me, or does it seem like Larry Scott is the only person in PAC-12 land who is enthusiastic about further expansion? I know the Colorado President has gone public with his objections. It seems to me that those very same arguments could be made by Utah, Arizona, and ASU. I'm sure OU won't apply for anything unless they know they have the votes among the existing PAC-12 members. . .but do they?
As someone who grew up in the heart of PAC-10 country (going to Stanford and Cal games) and has lived in SWC/Big-12 country for many years as an adult, I think a marriage between the existing PAC-12 and OU/OSU/UT/Tech would be a disaster long term. HUGE clash of cultures.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12Texas to the Magnolia Conference
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12
Magnolia League, not conference.
Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12
Seems to me they were heading for the altar a few (couple) of years ago and Texas left them at there at the altar. Now they are more measured. Add to that this Baylor lawsuit thing. Regarding cultures, the old PAC-8 may find there way back to a division without the AZs. Might be a better culture for them. ![]() Go Ponies!!

Re: Multiple Sources: OU-OSU To PAC 12the mwc will only have 7 members next year. fresno nevada and hawaii will be added. we could well see a mix of mwc and cusa schools. i don't think we will see a full merger but 12 schools could form a conference. there is some real dead weight in the mwc. i'm talking about you unm, unlv and wyoming.
