Biggest surprise was KP not getting a chance in the second half of that game. JJ was on point in the first so there was no reason to switch out QBs, but something needed to change in the second half. I'm not sure what Jones is looking for when he said the game didn't dictate a switch....

jj wasn't doing anything to merit a change.

Yeas, jj wasn't doing anything to merit a change, but he was also doing a bit of nothing. He doesn't seem to be as mobile as KP, and less arm strength. It could have been an injection of change that may have helped. KP was pumped on the plays he was in for.

This has been the mystery that is KP. He has shown some very solid play. He has shown some serious grit. Looking again at the Stampede, he made some wonderful plays. He has also shown inexperience, lack of consistancy, and poor play. Which is the real KP? I still think the kid has the tools. Hope he hangs tough.

JJ's gonna be the man until he either gets hurt or messes up severely.

I would like to go back and see KP's first game against Tulsa road and a few of those other ones that year where he didn't know much and played pretty well. Last year he seemed to play worse and worse as the season went on. It's frustrating for all of us b/c the most important position of his offense - and we don't have a really good one. I hope we see a JC guy come in this year.

Uh, two games, 7 1/2 qtrs to be exact. Shut out in 4 qtrs.....1 td and 1 INT. Good ratio.

Funny thing about Jones..."intended to play Kyle, but the situation didn't dictate it." KP has 21 starts in D1 and JJMc has 2. I think KP has probably seen every situation that JJMc has and more. Some gripe about Kp's INTs. I looked at the stats, and he has 41 tds to 18 INTs. Of the 18 INTs, 1 came against the #2 team in the country in 2010, 2 against the #8 team in the country 2011, and 3 against a Big 12 team in 2010. Add in 2 more against UCF in the Conf Championship game in 2010 (the #20 team in the country in 2010 while playing on 1 leg -- due to a severe high ankle sprain). 8 0f the 18 against some of the best competition in the country. How many were caused because the receiver ran the wrong route? I won't name names, but the tapes don't lie. Wake up Jones, you are going to lose KP to another school if you keep this BS up. Do the names McKown and Bartel ring a bell? Watch them play on Sundays.

I want to point out that I said nothing about KP winning the Heisman, just that I think he will come roaring back and have a good enough season next year to warrant an invite. Just as Colt Brennan got an invite. I just have the feeling that he will be a finalist next year.

Of course, he may never start another game for us, but I just don't see that happening.

I'm kind of agreeing with you here. It's not like my our guy Kyle threw 2 picks in his first four passes of the season. Oh wait, yeah, he did.

I'm not delusional, I just know what I have seen. Maybe kyle needs some zanax before the game or something. I don't know, he just needs to "not think", or not think too much and he'll be fine/the guy we saw at the Hawaii bowl again.

good points Dukster. I don't understand giving up on a kid cold turkey like that and not giving him a chance to redeem himself. then adding public inssult to injury by sending him in for 2 running plays against Utep like he can't even be trusted to run a passing play much less a series. JJ shouldn't ask Padron to run the ball if he doesn't intend to give him a chance to win the job back. Don't get the kid injured, have some class and let him transfer with his health and dignity in tact if your just gonna give up on him like that.

I laughed when KP trucked the corner and scored. Could just hear him saying, "that dude is 230 and pissed. Not going there." He stayed in the end zone rather than coming up to make the tackle.

He played ok in the ECU game and then stunk it up against UCF and Army. I wasn't at spring practice at all or summer practice. I know he worked very hard in 7 on 7, etc... I'd like to see him get a quarter at least to see if he can redeem himself. Thad - yes we were joking about that xanax but he needs some or a mental coach..
