Why did you think that Nabushosi would be a 3 star? If anything rivals rates too many recruits as 3 stars now. Numbers on star inflation have been posted multiple times and I am too lazy to do find them or figure them out myself at the moment.

Because he's a 3* on Scout, and Scout tends to be less generous with stars (although, I'm still trying to understand P Line). Beside, based on your own comment, rivals rates too many as 3* (so it isn't all that huge). Before someone comes in harping about rankings (and what little they mean), I understand how little it may matter. It's just nice to point to higher recruiting rankings when discussing the program. The rankings mean nothing if the improvement doesn't translate into on-the-field success.

I agree with you you, bball4tc's argument makes no sense. He is arguing the opposite of what he thinks he is.

Sorry, yes based on the fact that almost everybody is a 3 star now then Nabushosi and others could/should very well be 3 stars on rivals and/or scout. I guess I am still in the frame of mind that based on a non-inflationary star ranking (that no longer exists) that many of our recent recruits would not sniff 3 stars.

I don't know, I thought Scout was still somewhat reasonable (i.e. consistent with prior years) with their stars. Have to admit I have not followed Scout rankings as much, and right now Scout has SMU with as many 3 and 4 stars as Rivals does (although they disagree on some guys) so perhaps Scout has succumbed to inflation as well.

Everyone always talks about only looking at offers, and that is very reasonable, but I have always thought another way was to look at where the player is ranked at his position in the country. They can't decide to increase the number of guys ranked in the top 100 at a position the way they can increase the number of 3 stars.

Offers are the least bad of the indicators.

Nabusshosi is a good athlete that will switch positions in college so he will be more of a project for college. But the upside is really good on him from my understanding. But that would be the reason for the 2 star.
