Excerpted from Rick's report: J.J. McDermott, in his first start for SMU, completed 18-of-31 passes for 244 yards with one interception and no touchdowns..... For a second week in a row, SMU’s offense was shut-out in the second half.
Dud? What would we be saying about Kyle if he put up the same numbers?

FACT: We'd be complaining he only engineered 21 points against weak competition.

FACT: We'd be complaining that we have two pedestrian QBs, neither of which seems capable of raising their game to the next level.
Oh, wait, we're doing that anyway.
Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.

Here are Kyle's career stats:
5,764 yards, 41 touchdowns, 20 interceptions (yes, that includes the two at TAMU)
His quarterback rating last year was 137.4, good for #43 in the nation, one spot ahead of Tannehill from TAMU. The year before, it was 159.9, good for #5 in the nation.
I wish McDermott well, but no way he puts up anything close to those numbers.
I sincerely hope we don't cut off our nose to spite our face in this quarterback situation.

When will it be time to blame the Offensive Coordinator instead of qbs?

When the QBs stop throwing the ball like they're blindfolded.
That's out of line...not true.
