If Mizzou doesn't go PAC (very unlikely) or SEC (unlikely) then I expect the BE will jump to invite Kansas, K State and Mizzou. Assuming UT, OU, OSU, Tech and A&M land elsewhere then all that remains of the Big 12 will be Baylor and Iowa State. They would be forced to join CUSA, MWC or a combination.

ReedFrawg,

I think there is some serious sweating going on in Lubbock these days. They really need Texas to anchor them along to the PAC. If that doesn't happen then I don't think the PAC has any interest in adding Texas Tech by itself. Also, I don't see the Big East extending an invitation to Tech nor the SEC, ACC, or Big 10. Tech could be in a really tough spot. I think they are just as likely as Baylor is of being potentially left out because of location (Lubbock) and terrible academics. If they can't convince the PAC to take them, they could absolutely end up in some kind of hybrid MWC/CUSA/Big 12 conference.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Texas Tech - SMU - Houston - TCU - Tulsa - Baylor

Boise State- Air Force - Nevada- Fresno State - K State - Iowa State

That's pretty interesting.

Why?

The only reason they don't go ind now is scheduling. With a swc lite they have 8-9 games scheduled. Add ou ATM and another and they are in the national champ game

CUSA will not kick anyone out, although they might add. Any scenario that has a dramatically different CUSA due to subtraction is more of a stretch that SMU getting invited to a AQ conference.

The only reason they don't go indy now is scheduling? How about the fact they would be excluded from the BCS in any scenario where they do not finish the BCS poll at #1 or #2?

Right.

Or maybe the 20+ MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR they would forfeit by not being in a BCS conference.
Repeat after me: TEXAS DOES NOT WANT TO GO INDEPENDANT. TEXAS DOES NOT WANT TO GO INDEPENDANT.

It's not for altruistic reasons - there is simply less money and power in independence.

I would hope they go independent, but lose their BCS status, have to win it out every year and be in the top ten to even be considered for a major bowl game--just like Boise State. This year they wouldn't go undefeated in Mountain West.

I don't see TCU leaving the Big East for this...

Replace the Baylor bumkins with Missouri. I wouldn't invite Baylor to any conference. Let them pay their dues.

GO PONIES!!!
