really? You evaluate Kyle running the option with a freshman running back on the field? That whole series was a joke. we shouldn't have been trying to score and truth be told we were probably not aggressive because we knew we shouldn't be pulling a Mike Leach and rubbing it in.

Yes - Stallion -- the other guys need some more touches or the D's are going to focus on Beasley all the time. TW didn't do much of anything, and hasn't this year. I hope he gets on track. Hopefully Holman will be good to go next game. Has Thompson caught a ball all year yet?

ponyscott wrote:[It was a response to another thread but whats hilarious about a kids FIRST QB start winning with a good QB rating, even though the D solidified the win? And ECU was a terrible, horrible D last year. KP has had many starts and should be hitting his stride and he hasn't, is the point. I have also watched the UTEP game and improvements could be made by all, including MCd and yes we all know its highlights at the lunch....the point is?
If ECU was such a terrible, horrible defense, fine, what is Northwestern State? McD got the vast majority of snaps against a 1-AA opponent at home and did very little with it (and very little against Utep at home last week either). At least ECU was a D-1 opponent, on the road, in a pressure filled game. McD has given us no lift even at home against poor opponents. How is that winning the job?

Both QB's are wildly mediocre. Rather than debate which one is less bad, I am focusing my questions on how the h*ll in year 4 at SMU June has NEVER had a high level of play and consistency at the QB position? 4 years and nothing at the QB position for a RnS team. COMPLETELY unacceptable and that is on June if you ask me.

Afer 9 wins this year all will be fine. If the team implodes people will start turning on June fast.

you think we win 9 with McD at the helm? Are you predicting a win at TCU?

If we turn on June I am sure Houston Nutt will be made available soon after yesterday.

this whole notion that June is infallable with qbs is nuts. If he hadn't ditched Willis for no reason and put us through the goofy BLM experiment, we probably would have won 9 games two years ago.

After watching what Vandy did to Ole'Miss, they should be ready to bust a Nutt.

Just win football games is the answer. The W/L record will tell the story, not stats. hoop fan....the point is when you have over 20 starts as KP had, you need to produce and show improvement and 3-6 in your last 9 games as a starter won't cut it. Mcd is 2-0 as a starter and that's the reason why he is starting, whatever and whoever SMU happens to be playng at the time. If KP comes in and makes his presence known with good play, then he earns his position back. Until he can prove that,JJ will start Mcd. Enough said and no excuses.

PS: why count just the last 9 games. Why don't you look at the whole body of work? 21 starts. 5-1 as a fish; co-champ of the West, and a bowl game to boot. Prior to that how many divisional titles were even tied for? We know the bowl history. Soph year: 7-7, West Divisional titls and playing Conf USA Championship game. Last time ANY SMU football team played for any conference championship....82? Jr yr: 0-1. Did anyone really expect SMU to beat #8 A&M at Kyle Field? How many BIG wins has Jones won in his career? Need I say, his 12-0 Hawaii team was [deleted] by a Georgia team who was a good team, not great. He even has a Heisman candidate as his QB. Still blown out. JJMC: 2-0 against a horrible UTEP team and a Div 1-AA that Trinity High School could probably beat. Advantage: KP. I hope JJMc continues to win any game he starts for SMU's benefit, however, many people feel Jones will regret this decision, now and in the future. Jones isn't one of the top coaches in the country. If he was, he would have a BCS AQ school on his resume. Over rated.

Its all about what have you done for me lately?.....The reason is he was not getting better in his last 9 starts ( yeah we can take out TAMU, but he looked out of it from the start and that's why he was pulled after two quick INTs) and SMU was not able to score in the first half in the games he played in that stretch. Listen, itt is not from lack of effort, as he is really trying, but is trying too hard maybe. He doesn't look like he is having fun. And lets don't go back to the history of SMU football..its not relevant.
