Re: Give Us A Breakmissouri won't be left out of this current realignment, but the other schools I could all see forming a conference together.
No answers from anyone on what it takes to form a "new" conference?
Re: Give Us A BreakLouisville and Cincy would fit right into the MAC.
![]() ![]() GO PONIES!!!
Re: Give Us A BreakI don't know about the new conference thing. CUSA and MWC did it relatively recently. It is certainly easier to build on an existing conference.
Re: Give Us A BreakIt looks like Rutgers and Uconn will go to the ACC and they get to 16.
PAc-12 adds OU, OSU, UT, and TT to go to 16 SEC adds A&M, Missouri, Louisville, and West Virgina Big 10 adds Notre Dame, Kansas, Kansas State, Cincy. There will be the potential for a 5th BCS conference which SMU might be a part of. That would create a scenario where the ones left out (Baylor, Iowa State, TCU, USF) plus the best of the MWC (Boise State, Air Force, Colorado State) plus the best of CUSA (SMU, Houston, Memphis, UCF, Tulsa, So Miss) plus the best from the WAC (SDSU, Fresno State) and then add BYU to get to 16. A geographicaly nightmare but perhaps possible.
Re: Give Us A BreakI could almost guarantee that Cincy will not be in the B-10 and most likely K-st. will be ignored as well.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: Give Us A BreakLet the games begin-about 24 schools fighting for 16? seats

Re: Give Us A BreakI think if something like this happened it would end being a pod type system that has been talked about in some of the other conference realignment scenarios being thrown out there.
West- Boise State, Air Force, Colorado State, and ? (Tulsa, Nevada, BYU or other random MWC Team) Southwest- SMU, TCU, Houston, and Baylor Midwest or something- Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, and (Tulsa, Louisville, Cincinnati, Southern Miss, Memphis) South/east UCF, USF, Southern Miss, and (ECU, Louisville, Cincinnati, or memphis) I think Missouri will be taken by someone either the BIG 10 or SEC. It is also possible that Kansas is gone.
Re: Give Us A BreakNo chance on earth Cincinnati is taken by the BIG 10. Ohio State has the football monopoly in Ohio and the BIG 10 has Ohio State. Cincinnati would be just another mouth to feed.
Re: Give Us A BreakHold on!!! This is going to be a wild roller coaster ride

Re: Give Us A Break
I agree. Missouri won't be around, no doubt about it. Kansas depends on whether they are actually tied to K-State or not. If they are, they are screwed because whatever Kansas brings to their new conference won't be offset by what it costs to add K-State. If they aren't tied to K-State then they have much better options (Big 10 possibly SEC).
Re: Give Us A BreakI'm so excited for what is to come.
Re: Give Us A Breakwe just might get screwed by a TCU/Baylor/Houston coalition but SURELY in this new reality the lure of Dallas is actually a plus for SMU when it wasn't when Texas, Tech and A&M controlled the market. I've got to think these schools would like access to Dallas even more now

Re: Give Us A BreakIts going to be a mad scramble for all the available positions in the Conferences. We HAVE to win this year to be legitimate.
Re: Give Us A Break
I wouldn't say excited...more like scared but very cautiously optimistic that we have the right people in place and the adequate support to at least get in the converstaion. Also, whatever happens, I think there will be even more change a few years from now.
