Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?what is up with our sound system at Ford?
after years this on-going problem is still not fixed it's too loud then it's too low the audio is sometimes scratchy or breaks up the frickin Northwestern State band drowned out a song when our pom-pom team was doing a routine to sound system music they've improved so many things at Ford, but it is still amazing we are just unable to get a basic necessity like a sound system right C-ya @ Milos!
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?Where are you sitting? I do not have a problem with the sound system and I am deaf in one ear. I am curious because it may be a matter of speaker location or whether or not one or more may be inoperable.
Also, their band had more xylophones than we have band members so the drowning out does not surprise me. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?I agree, it's awful.
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?While I sit in the Stadium Club,I visit with one of the contract sound guys every week...Believe me,they know the sound system is not working well...that would be an understatement...He has told me that everyone in the stadium should complain loudly, but the man in charge just does not know what to do...some is equipment...the speakers...and some is human ....the problem has been there from day one...
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?I honestly have no problem. Maybe everyone needs to cover one ear.

Amazing "THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?
How about firing them and get someone who knows what they are doing?
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?
But we got all new equipment last year. What gives? Did we make a foolish purchase on equipment that does not work correctly or did we just purchase the wrong equipment? Just send 'da money.
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?I won't comment on content, but the actual sound is dreadful. I don't understand why, when there are sounds systems that sound like a Bose Wave Radio, we have an old scratchy pocket transitor radio sound. Can't we do a sound system a la The Ballpark in Arlington, where there are speakers every few feet? Is it simply cost prohibitive?
Semi random thought. The Demon band was pretty darned good. As was our band.
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?even watching online the place sounds horrid

Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?The speakers are only on the west side of the stadium. Just like Pizza Hut Park.
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?
Mrydel, I wish you had not said that. Now the "ones that are in charge", have a solution to the problem without having to spend any money. I expect an email from SMU suggesting this solution any day now. GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?They really need to do something, both with staff and equipment. The occasional reverb off the official's mike drives me crazy, not to mention the varying volume level at various points in the game. The NW St band probably skewed some things yesterday, but this is an ongoing issue. I feel like we have a state of the art HD video displayed coupled with an audio system we borrowed from the NYC subway system. Don't know if the equipment is bad, the crew doesn't know how to use it, or both.
Maybe we should tackle this at the same time we tackle the lights? ![]() "I don't think anyone around the country has any idea how good we are going to be." - Coach Justin Stepp
GO MUSTANGS!!!!
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?I thought the speakers were contained within the new scoreboard
Re: Ford Stadium Sound System.....still?Maybe they should set one volume level???? How about a little practice with the system??? It's utterly ridiculous, high school games are run better
