Still sucks that the SWC broke up. Texas led that as well. Now the Big 12 - 3.

OK legal eagles. The SEC went to great lengths to avoid the appearance of raiding the B-12 to get TAM, and thus avoid being sued for doing so. What is different here when it appears that the PAC 10/12 is actively pursuing 4 schools that will essentially destroy a conference? Should not the B-12 already be filing the papers on this?

I do not know if there is any legal standing against one conference coming after another's schools, but the SEC sure seemed worried about that perception.

This event forced the Pac 12's hand and they are forced to make the jump to 16 to protect their financial position.

I'm sure the academicians at my alma mater, along with UCLA, UC Berkeley, Stanford, and most likely Washington are thrilled about how money has corrupted the fabric of College Sports.

academician
noun:
1.
a member of an association or institution for the advancement of arts, sciences, or letters.
2.
a follower or promoter of the traditional trends in philosophy, art, or literature:

Reforms were instituted over the protests of the academicians.

The athletic departments at Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado are also thrilled to be stuck with BEVO and the Okies.

This makes so much regional sense; the Pacific Ocean now spreads to the Gulf of Mexico.

I guess what makes this move palatable is that the PAC8 is back to being the PAC8 and now has a conference championship game to determine who goes to the Rose Bowl.
