Fans at tonight's game (09/17)...A letter from JJ in order?

Postby couch 'em » Sun Sep 18, 2011 8:12 am

I thought the crowd was a bright spot-a lot didn't show up, but improving atmosphere with the cross stadium chants between the students and the scarf crowd
"I think Couchem is right."

True. I live in Illinois. Buy season tickets to support the cause. I've always either donated or made available to friends........simply not used for all games . Not sure what the answer is, but if outsiders want to count season ticket holders, I'm in. Count noses, I'm iffy. I don not need a letter from the Coach.

Who in the f^^ cares what someone wears at a SMU game?....just be there and show support, even if you are naked. Stars game be damned...

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Winning cures everything. Win... and they will show up. Win a lot... and those season ticket holders who live out of town will make more than one game a year provided they can afford it. Winning is like a drug and everyone wants to be part of it. I saw it at Hawaii... their 2006/07 seasons their crowds were filled w/ Warrior spirit. Every game was like an event... even those on the road at Nevada and San Jose State.

This team needs some big wins and... they need to find a great QB. I didn't see the game last night, haven't even seen one play in any highlight reel... but the stats for the QB's were depressing. Great game for Zach Line fantasy owners... but the QB position is what makes this offense work. That kid from Georgia can't graduate high school soon enough, because right now, I don't see either Padron or JJM being the elite QB that is needed.

Hopefully one of them steps up... otherwise this season isn't going to see any tremendous progress. And I know June expects them to take a huge step this year.

For as small as the West side crowd seemed, it's the most spirit I've heard in a while. People were actually WATCHING and INTO the game. It's also the most pi$$ed I've heard when the fumble was run back.

We are going to either have to win consistently for a while or get to the next level before you see people show up early and stay until the final whistle. It is just going to take some time before college football fans start showing up.

just like the students. It is going to take a bit of time before our student body is full of kids that love college football. We just didn't attract a lot of that demographic for a while.

I don't care what people wear either, but you can literally tell by what someone is wearing at our games whether or not they are the kind of fans who will scream their heads off for our team. It's just an observation.

And yeah, if you show up looking like you belong at a cocktail party vs. a football game, I am going to make fun of your idiotic @ss. Go to a wine bar to talk with your friends and you can enjoy not paying attention to our team from there.
