Pitt and Cuse are ACC. Big 10 has no reason to expand at the moment. ND will be target #1. After that it gets interesting. I don't know if Mizzou will be available (or if they'll be in the SEC), but Kansas floats to the top of the list. My guess is that the Big 10 has heartburn about whether KU will be able to maintain its AAU status. KU just finished raising a ton of $$ to go for NCI status. If they get it, they're in (as there's no way they lose AAU). After getting burned by Nebraska (losing its AAU status), I think they're waiting and watching. Just my opinion of course.

the reason the big 10 has to expand is the same as everyone else. if they don't they may lose out on the candidates that add the most value. Kansas? Sorry, don't see it. If they don't want Mizzou, they sure as heck don't want Kansas football.

exactly, so why would the Big 10 allow the ACC to have dibs on the first and best two choices in Pitt and Cuse? You think they want Rutgers? i don't know about Rutgers.

Big ten wants Rutgers and to a lesser extent UConn from the BE. They would be closest to the NYC Media Market. If they do expand don't be surprised if either of these names come up.

Why does everyone on this board believe that the Whorens have national power like ND. ND is truly a National School. UT is a regional school. Nobody in the northeast, mid Atlantic or southeast really cares about them. By the same token nobody in the northwest or big ten country cares about them. They are a regional superpower. Congratulations UT! You are France! You have a lot of influence in your neighborhood, but everyone thinks your an arrogant [deleted].

ND will join a conference if conferences go to 16 teams. A 16 team conference might have 2 non conference games to schedule each year. That would make scheduling really tough for ND.

I think the B-10 was caught a little flat footed with these moves. They may still try to persuade Pitt to come to the B-10 and also work agressively on ND. IMO the B-10 is much more significant than the acc.

Oh that minor paragraph....I was looking at

I think if something like this happened it would end being a pod type system that has been talked about in some of the other conference realignment scenarios being thrown out there.

West- Boise State, Air Force, Colorado State, and ? (Tulsa, Nevada, BYU or other random MWC Team)


Southwest- SMU, TCU, Houston, and Baylor


Midwest or something- Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, and (Tulsa, Louisville, Cincinnati, Southern Miss, Memphis)


South/east UCF, USF, Southern Miss, and (ECU, Louisville, Cincinnati, or memphis)


I think Missouri will be taken by someone either the BIG 10 or SEC. It is also possible that Kansas is gone.
