Looking Forward at UCF

Postby McNastytron » Mon Sep 19, 2011 11:00 am

UCF lost to Florida International on Saturday. FIU is not a bad team by any stretch but they aren't a good one either. UCF was sacked 6 times and FIU was without their star WR for most of the game. 4-2 start is looking very doable.

Anyone see any of this game or have any thoughts? How does this bode for us looking forward?

I was thinking, how does it look to be in CUSA? La Tech handled UH. And FIU handles UCF. Those were suppose to be two of the best teams in CUSA and they are getting beat down by teams from the Sunbelt and WAC-depleted? I get FIU is pretty salty this year, but really? And La Tech who had to fend off Central Arkansas in OT the week before? Sad Saturday for those of us that want to see CUSA win games and be a stronger, deeper conference.

Have you seen Florida International play? Just wondering because they looked pretty damn good against Louisville on TV. Maybe they are a lot better than we think. I did read however that UCF really didn't give up any offense drives. I think a TD was run back by defense and another TD was scored after turnover near UCF's goalline.

Oh and by the way-Houston came back to beat Lousiana Tech in an incredible comeback

And seeing what the ags have done our beat down by them doesn't look quite so bad. Next week should be real interesting as the ags play OSU.

Yeah A&M peeled Idaho's potatoes. Who wouldn't be impressed by that. But seriously CUSA doesn't have BCS contenders because their teams do not consistently recruit top BCS caliber players. The former MWC schools like TCU, Utah and BYU did

Yes, Keenum absolutely torched La Tech the second half. That is going to be a real tough game for us to win.

FIU is definitely solid, I give them credit. UCF and Houston both seem sound and I think both are still the team to beat in their respective division at this point. I am just surprised that UCF lost so close to home.

I stand corrected. That's what you get when you count out a team in the 4th. I just assumed after checking the score semi late that they were going to lose. Sorry about being wrong/ignorant.

Still, shouldn't have been that close.

BTW- I need two tickets to the UCF game as I will be in Dallas. If anybody is not going to use their tickets please PM me. I am not looking for freebies- I will pay face value. TIA.

I've watch FIU and I realize they are a good team, actually picked them to give Louisville a run for their money out in Vegas. It just doesn't look good when one of your perceived best teams gets beat by a Sunbelt team.

I am on the FIU bandwagon this year. They only have to play Duke and sunbelt teams. Could easily go 12-0

I think FIU beat North Texas 41-7 too-better than UH did
