UConn president Susan Herbst is aggressively pursuing membership in the ACC to become the 15th or 16th member institution in the conference, according to a source with direct knowledge of UConn's situation.
According to the source, Herbst was having conversations recently but in light of Pittsburgh's and Syracuse's defections from the Big East, the talks have accelerated in the last 48 hours. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story ... ource-says

let's hope the ACC (which is still one of, if not THE premier hoops conference in the country) invites UConn and either Rutgers, WV or Louisville into the fold.
This league looks pretty stout to me:
ACC North: BC, Syracuse, Pitt, UConn, Rutgers, Maryland, Va Tech, Virginia
ACC South: UNC, NCSU, Wake, Duke, Clemson, Ga Tech, FSU, Miami
If the SEC raids one from the south, substitute USF; Big East offers northern options to replace one.
This brings TCU back home where they belong

I have a feeling that Louisville and Cinci will be a package deal whereever they end up. The folks up here are seeing that Cinci's options are pretty limited.

This brings TCU back home where they belong Your proposed ACC would be a truly great conference. What happens to WV, Louisville, Cincy and TCU in your scenario? Remaining Big East schools would still have a great basketball conference.

All I know is this is absolutely killing me. The 2 schools that mean the most to me - UConn (my alma mater) and SMU (where my daughter is a student) could both be on the outside looking in. My Preferred scenarios would put UConn in the BIg10 (or whatever number it ends up) along with ND and put SMU in the remaining Big12/Big East. Never going to happen, but I can still hope.

West Virginia ends up in either ACC or longshot SEC (backfill in ACC if SEC takes someone for their team # 14 in the east to balance out A$M) TCU, Louisville and Cincy have to join remaining Big XII members and add more (much depends on whether the Big 10 decides to expand) TCU and Baylor back together and only question is with what conference mates? Chance for SMU and Houston to join them and be reunited. Just one in the hundreds of possibilities that should play out this year
