With the new offensive coordinator planning to spread out the offense, what is going to happen to our tight ends?
Hampton is, by far, the best offensive threat we have, and Hrncir is a decent blocker (when not playing against Julius Peppers), but what role do strong, slow (relative to Comet, Ford, Cardwell, etc...) TE's have in a spread offense.

Wait to see in the Spring... My guess is that 3 & 4 wides may not be the only formations. Also, if you look at our DE situation some big athletic guys are needed.

Are you saying possibly move Hrncir back to DE?

I hear there's some discussion of moving Trent H. back to DE, because we're thin at that spot. Also some talk of bumping Marcus Walker outside, if he shows some quickness in spring ball. That's less likely, though. I guess Melvin Williams and Allan Adami have to be viewed as the starters at DE, at least for now.
How many TEs do we have coming back? Hampton, Hrncir, Tate Wallis (I think) ... and is there any truth to the rumor that Michael Brown might try for an extra year because of his injury that made him miss all of last year?

Mike Dineen was a TE. And we put Hargis at TE for a while, but I suspect he will be back at OL.
Haven't heard anything on Brown.

What will next year's playbook entail for the returning tight ends. Will the new spread offense help or hinder Hampton.

I gathered some very good information from Bennett in regarding the new offense, and frankly, he wants to win with what he has here, next year, and the most important point he alluded to was his overall knowledge of what beats defenses.
He will spread it out, but the word spread doesn't exactly mean no tight ends. Oklahoma ran a version of the spread offense, and their tight end was a finalist for the tight end award at the end of the year.
It will be a very interesting spring at all positions.

Hrncir will stay at TE. Walker will stay inside, too thin at DT. Adami will move outside to DE and Dineen will move to DE. Hargis will move back to OL. More depth on the way with incoming class.
