Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsThis kind of seems like dogpiling on Beebe to me. What was he supposed to do? The big bad wolf was threatening to blow the house down if he didn't give them everything they wanted. If he stands up to UT the conference falls apart. If he gives in to UT at least that keeps the thing going for a little longer. I think that he was put in a really tough spot.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsI think another reasonable condition would be the removal of DeLoss "Hee Haw" Dodds
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With Conditions
So they go to the PAC 12 with Texas and the same LHN deal? But they only stay in the Big 12 if the LHN is revised? Sounds like OU is just saying "NO" to the LHN.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsThey can say no the LHN all they want but if they want to be in the same conference w/ Texas they are gonna have to deal with it. I don't know if they get a PAC invite without Texas. Texas on the other hand could get an invite to any conference in America at any moment.

Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With Conditionsand not that it was ever really in doubt, but it is now 100% sure that the Big 12 could invite TCU or Louisville and they would now accept tomorrow. TCU's deal with the Big East is void at that this point. We may be back to hoping the Big 12 doesn't invite TCU, Houston and BYU. All three would add insult to injury because scheduling BYU would be critical to our backup plan of trying to go Indy.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsThis is a PR move by OU. Plain and simple. (1) Beebe didn't listen to NE about Texas, but did listen to the little 5 when it was reported that UT, A&M, TT and OU were headed out to the PAC 10 and he worked to get UT and the others on the same page. I thought the agreement was signed in blood or something like that. But apparently not. So, I think Beebe is toast, none of the schools apparently see him as a leader at this point. (2) LHN and TT may be a problem. The rumor is that the ACC would accept UT with the LHN, but not TT. They do take academics seriously and TT is just not ACC material and they're out in Lubbock. And we all know that UT can say they tried to keep TT along for the ride, but it just didn't work out. And the PAC12 invites KU and KSU.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsDing ding ding! Like I've said all along, OU and Texas will keep B12 together, for better or worse. P12 doesn't want the likes of OU and OSU, and Texas doesn't want to share the throne with USC, Nike, etc.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsI'm sorry I don't think this keeps the conference together, but imagine this scenario:
Big 12 stays together and A&M and Mizzou go SEC Big 12 invites TCU, BYU, Houston, and Louisville to get back to 12. We get left in a CUSA w/o Houston, likely adding one of UNT/Ark State/MTSU/FIU Shoot me in the f'ing face if that happens. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With Conditions
Where's the rest of the Big East going to go?
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsNow that is a good question. Not sure I have answer for that one.

Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With Conditions
If your scenario plays out, we will join the Big East.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsLOL. Okay. List of teams the Big East would take before us:
East Carolina Central Florida Southern Miss Villanova Baylor Kansas Kansas State Iowa State Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With Conditions
The bottom four are off the table due to the new stabilized B12. Big East will take us before Southern Miss. Also, according to the BE posters on NCAAbbs the Villanova-to-FBS thing is dead.
Re: OU Stays Big 12 ... With ConditionsStill got ECU and UCF that will go Big East before us.
