how can we not even be able to field a team competitive with Rice? I've run out of patience, at least for now.

Do you think there is a way that I can have my "givashitter" removed when it comes to SMU football? I feel like I'm in love with a woman who does nothing buy cause me pain.

before we cut our head off, let's at least get our top recruits into the starting lineup-you know guys like Phillips, Muse, Lindley, Henderson, V. Chase, David Haynes, DeMyron Martin, Kyle Griffin, Kenard Burley, and Fred Turner. Other guys in their redshirt freshman season are playing but only because there is no one else to play-none should be expected to play on even an average major college football program in their redshirt freshman year -guys like Justin Boren, Desmond Jones, Avery Cleveland, Lucky DeLay, Cedrick Dorsey, Zach Hall, Devin Lowery, Joe Sturdivant, and Wilton McCray. We've barely scratched the surface of what these guys will mean to the program. I'm not sure if they will lead us to bowls or even winning seasons but I am reasonably sure they will greatly improve the program. Maybe they only build the foundation of future success but the talent level on this team will significantly improve. Take a look at whose on the field-maybe its your problem if you expect these guys to excel.

Stallion, what you say is true but one can't help but wonder if perhaps Bennett is to the program at this point as Sullivan was to TCU in the end. That is, he brought in good athletes to help turn the corner....but it was someone else who harnessed what they had and turned that corner. If so, who's our Franchione?

I think what is disturbing is that Rice recruits much like we do. Did you hear the announcers saying that almost all of their players were Honor Students in HS. We can't use the restrictive recruiting excuses against Rice. Our most restrictive policies were removed 4 years ago but we still can't compete against Rice. This was a poor effort and showed Bennett still doesn't have a clue about the option and how to stop it. This was a huge setback tonight. Maybe Stallion will tell us how Rice differs in their recruiting practices but I don't think there is much, if any. difference.

I wish I could be optimistic, but I don't see any reason to be. Bennett and his staff have shown no capability to consistently prepare the team to be competitive. This was total domination tonight against a team that lost to San Jose last week. It very much reminded me of the TCU game in terms of the dominance, and we all know that TCU needed a last second miracle to beat Army (i.e., they aren't that good).

I am not naive enough to believe we have the talent we need, but I strongly believe we should be much more competitive than we are right now.

It is very difficult to watch this football team, even on a computer screen.

I hear you guys, but this loss was at the hands of a team who gave up 70 points to SJSU (last week) & had to play 2nd team offensive back field to night...

Bennett is back to "it's my fault" during his post game interview. That's one thing he got right tonight.

It doesn't matter that we had two good recruiting classes... because the two that follow those are going to be p!ss poor. We've already lost our momentum. This is as bad as it gets. Tonight we cemented our place in the BOTTOM 10 for the rest of the year.

My GOD, highland park high school could outscore our offense. This is pathetic. There are probably 50 high school teams nationwide with better offenses than ours.

This coach has shown that he can't coach a team. Even the defense blows... that was supposed to be his specialty. Our football program has been/is an embarrassment. It's come to the point where it's a negative reflection on our school. Not that it will do any good, but it's time to make a change.

I listened to the game for awhile. Finally got disgusted and went back to watching LSU and FLA. Good game. My question is a simple one we obviously are playing worse than we did in the first game of the season. Why aren't we showing some improvement ? I don't disagree with Stallion, but good lord I would expect us to start showing some game experience as the season progresses rather than regressing. From what I have seen and heard these guys sometime look and sound as if they are still looking for a left handed hammer.
