Injuries

Post by SMUguy »

Why didn't Chris Banjo play? He practiced during the week and said he would go, but was out of uniform on the sideline. Anyone know?

Kelvin Beachum was hurt in the second half. Hard to see what it was - looked like a knee or something. Anyone hear an update?

Fingers crossed for Cole Beasley.

Beachum went back in so I assume he is ok. May have just been a cramp from watching the replay.

very worried about Beasley...he really seems to be JJMcD's safety blanket and such an integral part of the O.

Total disaster...could cause a major skid here.

Big loss but we will be fine. Lots of young talent in our receivers. They need the playing time anyway. Remember, as much as we want to win this game, and as important as it may be in the grand scheme of things, the primary goal is to win CUSA. This is a nonconference game and a good time to get experience for games down the road. Lets just beat TCU and move on down the road to the next game.

Banjo had a neck 'stinger' last game and was held out as a precaution and will be ready for TCU, Cole is not good and Beachum sprained his ankle and could have come back if needed, but will be ready next week for TCU is what I understand.
This is why we have to recruit many and be deep and strong at all positions because injuries will happen when we least expect it. I thought the WR's stepped it up in Beasley's absense, but he will be one that we will miss heavily including on punt returns, although Crawford looked fine.

I am hoping that this is going to be one of those occasions where a star player goes down and the new young talent has a chance to shine. So much of the offense has gone through his hands, maybe we will be able to to positively surprised at our new depth.

I don't want crawford on punt return... he has been fantastic at corner and that is a player we would really, really miss if he got hurt...

TCU lost LB Tanner Brock to a foot injury on Saturday. He was a beast against us the past two years on special teams, and got a sack or two last year on Kyle. IMO a pretty big loss.

Huge loss, esp since their D has been so iffy this year.
