Spitblood points out a big TCU weakness this year....Can we continue to make a 51% clip on 3rd Down efficiency on the Frogs and will it be THE factor in the game? From Spitblood:
"Third and Fourth Down Efficiency on defense. TCU led the nation in third down efficiency last year, only allowing the opposition to convert on 21.9% of their chances. This year through four games, three against underwhelming opposition, the Frogs are allowing opponents to convert on 46% of their third down tries. Even worse, TCU has allowed opponents to convert on 60% of their fourth downs. This is where a lot of those quick, underneath passes I mentioned earlier happen. These types of drive extending defensive lapses are KILLER and often lead to unnecessary scores. SMU is currently converting 51% of their third down tries, which is about average, although they are only 1/8 on fourth downs. I'll hit on this more in the actual preview, but I think this will be THE factor in determining the outcome of this game" Last edited by ponyscott on Mon Sep 26, 2011 8:17 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Spitblood points out a big TCU weakness this year....i'll take every stat in our favor that we can find.
Derail the Frogs!
Re: Spitblood points out a big TCU weakness this year....also a lovely quote from tcuspitblood.com today:
"What do I hate about SMU? I hate that outsiders always lump TCU and SMU together. Sure, there are some similarities. SMU is a lot like TCU...only with way more drugs, way more pretension, less non-cheating football success and way more white-collar criminals on campus during parent's weekend." Just more ammo to hate the froggies....
Re: Spitblood points out a big TCU weakness this year....Meh, when you're looking up that far, bound to get pissy about things. Everyone has bad stereotypes, I'm comfortable with ours.

Re: Spitblood points out a big TCU weakness this year....Say what you want about SMU but TCU leads in sexual assault cases!!
Three sexual-assault cases reported at or near TCU over nine days Posted Saturday, Sep. 10, 2011 FORT WORTH -- A string of e-mail alerts describing reported sexual assaults at or near Texas Christian University triggered safety concerns this fall semester. On Aug. 18, campus police received a report that a female student was sexually assaulted in a residence hall by someone she knew. Campus police received another report Aug. 22 of an attempted sexual assault, also by an acquaintance, that apparently occurred in a residence hall. On Aug. 26, Fort Worth police notified TCU police of a sexual assault several blocks south of the campus. The reported victim appeared to know the attacker in that case, too. "I am a concerned parent," the mother of a TCU student wrote to the Star-Telegram. She asked not to be identified. "My concerns are that the school is out of control. There is too much on campus drinking and partying." Fort Worth police are investigating the cases. No arrests had been made as of Friday. Nationwide, the fall semester typically kicks off with students moving into dorms, registering for classes, making friends and attending parties. It's a period of new beginnings, but campus and victim advocates stress that it's also a time when young people are vulnerable. The period from the start of the semester through Thanksgiving break is sometimes called the "red zone," explained Melissa Lucchesi, outreach education coordinator for Security On Campus Inc. That time often has a higher incidence of crimes, she said. "It's the first time students are away from home," said Lucchesi, adding that students are living in a new setting and socializing. Sometimes, they experiment with alcohol or drugs. GO MUSTANGS!
