One of Baylor's many problems is that their alumni are just plain cheap.

It's all a matter of location. I've got Exxon moving in less than 3 miles from me. Tons of jobs coming in, no visible signs of slow down. Oil and gas service business that my boss owns is booming. Can't expand or hire people fast enough. With that said I was also unemployed for 9 months about a year and a half ago so I understand the feelings of many across the country.

With that said can we move off the topics of politics. It's nauseating.

I can see Drayton putting $100 - $150 million from the Astros sale towards this. Then again, not sure how much of the sale price is going to him personally, but he's been on record as saying donating money to Baylor is one of his reasons for selling the team.

The bigger obstacle for Baylor is closing the gap from Drayton to $250 million. Oh, also that as of now MLB won't approve the sale of the 'Stros to the racist, war profiteering Jim Crane. If the Crane deal falls through, Drayton will most likely have to hang on to the team until the economy rights itself, which may be past his expiration date.

He's not going to be able to sell the Astros any time soon. Crane was a stretch. He wants a lot for a team that is not nearly as profitable as they were a few years ago. Not going anywhere.

Wouldn't be surprised if the former XTO owner and major investor in the Texas Rangers funds a big part of the stadium. He funded their indoor facility and I believe his son is or was a walk-on. Everything that guy has decided to do in the past decade has turned to platinum and he loves Baylor! Natural gas riches are funding the growth of facilities at TCU and Baylor! Anyone know if any of those dollars making it to SMU?
