listen, that took a HUGE effort and a lot of those were paid for by a few and donated. is attendance up? yes. can you use a "operation sell out" and Family weekend as your measuring sticks? nope. and I was there, no way those numbers were accurate.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

I don't care HOW it happened. It happened. The numbers are improving and its clear to anyone that we are seeing more people in the stands. In 2006 a game against NW State would have had less than 12,000. If we can string together a couple of nice wins I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see us average 22-25K for the year.
Back off Warchild seriously.

we can put "pocket book" fans in seats-but the Season ticket count (the Real Fans) is miniscule compared to the schools we are comparing ourselves too. That's the Bottom line

Divide the league into two sub-conferences; a premiereship & a relegation league.
The good teams rise to the top into the premiereship The suckass teams sink to the bottom into the relegation league

Tell you what, I am not a "one signature win fixes everything" kind of guy. But beating TCU would go a long way toward getting more butts in the seats this season and having more non-SMU alums take notice of the only college football team in their city...
Gotta get more casual fans out to the games. Do that by giving them something to get excited about - big wins, conference championships, good bowl games, good opponents, etc.

That wasn't the point. The point is we've improved and will continue to improve. But thanks for taking the opportunity to jump in yet once again and spread your joy and cheer.

I have seen lots of talk of the merger, but I don't think anyone who matters (BCS) has said that if we merge they would make us AQ. Have they even commented on this?

Here comes Cinderella-no that's not the point. Keep your eye on the ball- not on your never ending attempt to attack Stallion. You don't get a white participation ribbon for trying hard or a gold badge for being Most Improved Newcomer of the Year. These decisions will be made on hard facts. The hard facts are that schools like TCU, UH, ECU, UCF, Air Force, Navy. Southern Miss, Boise, BYU have MUCH better season ticket sales (as in multiple times)and actual attendance. That is a huge advantage to them in realignment. That's the point in case you missed the Forest from the Trees.

I would hope the these conf commissioners would first look at TV viewers, location, and upside, before they look at for example ECU, a school in the middle of no where that no one cares about except for their large student body....
I think you are overestimating how important season ticket sales are, as the gate is something the doesnt add a lot and can be fixed...You can't move ECU to Durham, ect...
There is no doubt we are behind TCU, UCF, Boise, BYU, but the others are all debatable...

Your points are good ones but beside the point that was being made. And you call me a name one more time on this board and we'll need a face to face discussion.

Some people want to have Cheerleader Camp and some prefer to rationally discuss the facts
