The whole attendance argument is complete garbage... if we play teams like UAB, Memphis, Northwestern State, and other crap teams that no one around here cares about, we will have bad attendance. If we play teams like Texas, A&M, Tech, or TCU that our "fans" and alumni have actually heard of and are interested in, we'll sell out Ford. It's really that simple. You can't judge teams in crap conferences by their attendance.

listen, that took a HUGE effort and a lot of those were paid for by a few and donated. is attendance up? yes. can you use a "operation sell out" and Family weekend as your measuring sticks? nope. and I was there, no way those numbers were accurate.
Good point. Operation Sell Out was a success (could have been better, but right direction) and we need it to keep our numbers up for the UCF game and season average. Please PM me for details.

While I agree with you. Marshall, UTEP, ECU and UCF in our own crap conference do better than us in attendance. Yes, they are the only game in town for the most part, but that's where the perception is. We don't draw fans on our own, our opponents have to generate the attendance.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Wasn't there a copywrite issue in posting the entire article? I thought we were instructed to only post the link, or a brief portion of the article and then the link.

I'm hearing that talk from a lot of Marshall people I do business with; MAC stuck at 13 members and it was truly a "regional" group for them makes sense; if they do it, I hope TCU will decide to stay home and play with CUSA...Tulane can slide back to the east. Again, this is assuming the SEC, ACC and Big XII devour the Big East and TCU does not get Big Xii invite right now, it would be TCU vs Boise for the BCS invite if our two conferences can sell this deal, but the competition would be fierce and several teams would have a legitimate shot in any given year
