My comment wasn't a shot at the common man, it was a shot at the common Fort Worthean. Dallas and Fort Worth are just different culterally. FW is full of "kickers" which isn't bad, just different. Every comment I've ever made about attendance on here is about how we need to get Dallasites in Ford. TCU does a tremendous job at that; their cheapseat fans just choose to wear cammo jumpsuits to games when the temperature heads towards 40 degrees, whereas ours would not. Can't a fella make a "TCU sucks" comment during rivalry week on their home team's board without TCU apologist scrambling to come to their rescue?

The stadium will look great when it's done...from the inside. The real aesthetic question is whether they are gonna wrap it on that early industrial p!ss color to match the rest of TCU's campus.

The TCU fans and their famous Darrell Royal "cockroach analogy" has just changed in the past decade or so. The city and fans have only embraced the team fully in the past few years after multiple winning seasons and are starting to appear more with the lights on instead of just staying in the dark. It was a long time coming but the few faithful have been rewarded with a wonderful program and campus which are improving on a daily basis. they are showing the way for other private schools

I was there for the ULM game (until I got bored and went back to the tailgate, as I was losing my buzz and was going to be double hungover from both the night before and my morning drinking) . Stadium is going to be awesome. Tailgate was fun. Lots of talent at TCU. Got too drunk to throw out any good game though. And I wore Purple (dont flame me) cause my brother would not let me go in neutral colors and be that guy.

I moved to North Fort Worth this year, and I see TCU stuff everywhere. EVERYWHERE. I didn't see that much SMU stuff outside of a 2 mile radius of the SMU campus. The city supports their team more than Dallas supports ours, so we've got some catching up to do. I'd rather us appeal to a broader fan base, and that starts by us being more open to the idea that SMU football can't stay this little neat tidy experience that all of us claim isn't enough.

They are flying SMU flags in HP village . But I agree. When I go eat out in FW all the waiters and waitresses no matter where you go are in purple on game day. When we start winning things will change. Although I worry about SMU's elitist reputation keeping some away.

In fact let's take the elitist stance further. Do away with all general, outdoor seating and only have indoor, air conditioned club seating.

Don't apologize, that's what message boards are for. I agree with your comments re: FW, btw. I think Dallas is better (by a magnitude of about 100x), but that's just my opinion. There are obviously a lot of Fort Worthians who disagree.

I have no problem with ragging on their team, their coach, their school, or whatever else you want to rag on. It's just ironic that most people on here complain about our attendance and then make it seem like we wouldn't love to have that many fans, of any type, in our stadium, too.

I freakin' can't stand all things related to TCU, so feel free to hate on them for anything and any reason and I'll back you. But I'm also a realist, and I know that when we get more attention, we're going to get more fans like the ones you are talking about in our stands, and I'll be ecstatic to hear them all cheering Red/Blue like we did at the NW State game, but in much bigger fashion.

I'm sorry I became your metaphor for an elitist fan because I'm really am not one. Act like a man? Ruining your school? Please. Why don't you grow up and stop pretending that everything said on a message board has some sort of cosmic influence. I'm on my home team's board, during rivalry week, on a board where UH grads are regularly told that they will never amount to anything more than a 7-11 clerk...and I pointed out that some TCU fans choose to wear cammo to games and they have tractors on the field...THEY DO!!!...BIG FREAKIN' DEAL! I swear we are worse to our own fans on here than we ever are to our opponents. These personal attacks are ridiculous.
