My 1st SMU game was 1978 vs. TCU

Texas A&M 1966. Won with a field goal near end of game. Best: 1982 at Austin against UT. 10,000 SMU fans stormed field after the game.

I went to my 1st SMU game ever vs. TCU in 1978. It was our last year in the Cotton Bowl, before moving to Texas Stadium. I remember Arthur Whittington took the opening kickoff, all the way back for a touchdown. So, when was your 1st SMU game and what year

Actually it was DK Perry who ran the opening kickoff back. Whittington was gone. Mike Ford was the QB. Jerry Lewis was there for the MD association.

It was the beginning of Mustang Mania!

Some game at Texas Stadium my dad took me to.

First game I remember completely - at Ownby vs. UT; Oct 23, 1989. I looked over at the student section and thought, I think I would like going to school here. Always been a champion of the underdog.
