Re: O.T. - Eastern WashingtonCalallen: so we agree about 1981 and Clemson? 1982 is different. Ever heard of strength of schedule? Penn St beat #2 Nebraska, #13 West VA, #13 Notre Dame #5 Pitt, AND #1 Georgia. Yes, they lost to #4 Bama early in the season. SMU beat #19 Texas, tied #9 Arkansas, and beat #5 Pitt. They also had to have Leach's miracle against Tech and settled for the tie instead of going for the win against Ark. Also, SMU played 2 Div 1AA teams, North Texas State and UTEP. No way their schedule was as difficult as Penn St, thus they were #2. Ever heard the argument against Boise State? Same thing. Weak schedule vs strong schedule and 1 loss. Advantage strong schedule if the loss is early in the season. I root for SMU but you can't sell me on the 1982 championship. In fact, Pennn State's 1982 schedule was voted the most difficult of any champion in the past 60 years. Sorry man, doesn't add up.
Re: O.T. - Eastern WashingtonLet's stop talking about Bo Levi. It'd not like he was ever worth a damn to our program.
If he hadn't "led" our team to a 1-11 season, we MIGHT still be wearing our blue jerseys "I love coaching here at SMU University" -June Jones
O.T. - Eastern WashingtonI will forever despise the gunslinger for killing the blue jerseys.
