Re: I count 10 linemenI'm with you Bus... we definitly need size on the line. Let us hope that the red shirts from last year grew some over the year. If the FR-RS and the new signees come ready to play we should be able to be in better position than last year. Like you, I believe it's the 'big uglies' that make the difference.
Re: I count 10 linemenHey BUS - do you know what happened to Cherry?
Re: I count 10 linemenDMN says Cherry went to Abilene Christian.
I think I remember someone saying that Bennett wants an attacking type defense which would seem to me means that on the line he is more interested in speed, strength and technique than in having 300lb guys to stand around and block up the middle. My recollection of KSU's defense was that it wasn't too shabby....anyone know how many 300lb DL's he used there? [This message has been edited by PK (edited 02-07-2002).] SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: I count 10 linemenLooking at the K State website, their roster had some good sized DT (average around 280) & DE (about 250), which is about the size of the SMU players. The one thing I saw that was much different than SMU was the size of the KSU OLBs. They average 250 at OLB and are known to run. With SMU in the 220 range, there may be some changes this Spring. It is also possible that some of the OL signed may move over to DT next year.
