I realize this is a chair (albeit a chair with a booster seat) at the adult table, and thus better than nothing, but doesn't it just seem a little desperate and Mcfly-ish that C-USA and MWC are saying, "Okay, we'll admit we are second-class citizens, play a wacky schedule, and crown a single winner out of our 22 teams from 2 conferences, but you have to let this "best of the rest" team play in one of your big-boy bowls."

I'm not saying I wouldn't take it if it is all that's available to us. I don't know. Its just sort of embarrassing. TCU and Boise St. have shown it can be done without admitting you are less relevant and less entitled than, say, Duke or Rutgers or Wash. St, etc. etc.

TCU and Boise have had to go undefeated for multiple years just to hope they get to play in a BCS bowl game and do not always get an opportunity. This would at least allow a guaranteed spot every year. They have not shown it is reasonably achievable by any sense. TCU and Boise have shown what ridiculous hoops non-AQ schools have to go through just for a chance, not even a guarantee, to play in a BCS bowl. Also if CUSA/MWC were allowed conference then a bi-championship game, that would mean more media exposure for CUSA/MWC. But, that would open the flood gates for the WAC, MAC, and or Sun Belt to try to set up something similar and BCS conferences also wanting to play an extra game. Probably will not happen.
