I guess USF to Big 12 makes about as much sense as TCU to Big East. Florida is fertile recruiting ground

No I meant TCU(they) in Big 12. USF has no where to go

Why waste time trying to include so many terrible dead weights, not to mention the potential legal cost of kicking out a team or two? Why not take the best of the MWC/CUSA, and rebuild inside the shell of the Big East that already has a BCS spot. This would avoid legal trouble of dropping bad schools and hoping for BCS status. If we are still playing Rice, Memphis, UAB, etc. in conference, that is not a step forward, that is not a claim to legitimacy, and that is not a move to better conference revenue. We would be a conference of middle-weight schools with heavy weight aspirations still carrying schools set on being in the bottom and not making moves to increase revenue.

Because that AQ status is up for review and Big East is already hanging by a thread. Why beg for a conference so far flung it will cause SMU to "travel" worse than we already do...especially if any extra revenue does nothing more than (hopefully) offset your increased costs? At some point, you have to think about the "student" athletes, don't you?

I'm realistic enough to see we don't belong playing against Texas and Texas A$M week in, week out so I'd like to be part of a regional group we have some history with and can compete with...especially if we at least have an opportunity to play with the big boys in BCS games or the playoffs that might be inevitable at some point down the road
