TEAM NOTES

Captains for today: #70 Kelvin Beachum (OT), #23 Chris Banjo (FS)

SMU defeats No. 20 TCU, 40-33 in overtime
- SMU’s first win over a ranked team since defeating No. 22 TCU 21-10 in Dallas on Sept. 10, 2005
- SMU wins the “Battle for the Iron Skillet” for the first time since 2005 (SMU is now 40-44-7 in the series vs. TCU)
- SMU’s first road non-conference victory since a 24-11 win at Navy on Nov. 21, 1998

SMU is off to a 4-1 start for the first time since going 5-1 to begin the 1986 season

The 71-yard TD pass from J.J. McDermott to Terrance Wilkerson (4:01 1st Qtr) was the longest for SMU since an 82-yard TD from Kyle Padron to Aldrick Robinson at Tulane Oct. 30, 2010.

Zach Line rushed for 120 yards. This is just the 24th time a TCU team under Gary Patterson has allowed a 100-yard rusher. Line also did it in 2010 (17-139, TD).

SMU has won 4 straight games, its longest streak since winning 5 straight during the 1997 season (Oct. 11 at Utah – Nov. 15 at Tulsa)

SMU had 461 total yards today (112 rushing, 349 passing) and has 1510 total yards in the last 3 games

The SMU defense had gone 10 straight quarters without allowing a TD until the TCU TD with 6:15 left in the 2nd Qtr
