SMU will get their 2nd win

Postby rich_alum » Fri Oct 15, 2004 11:46 am

I am gonna go ahead and call this upset. When I saw the opening line, I was a bit surprised......I figured La Tech would be a bigger favorite. However, La Tech's pass defense is very suspect. They rank 94th is pass defense. While they have played some tought teams this season, they still gave up 327 and 244 yards passing to La. Lafayette and Nevada.

Our spread offense has the potential to give them a tough time and I do think we will put up some points. The bigger question is if our defense can stop their running game. Our run defense has been less than spectacular, but I have a feeling we will do a much better job this game.

I'd like nothing better than a Mustang win. However, I'm afraid to make any predictions of a victory after the Rice game. I will knock on wood for you rich_alum. I don't want to get disappointed the way I was last week. Let's hope for a good game (or a slaughter if it's in our favor).
We must shake the \"snob\" reputation. Bring Dallas back to SMU.

Did RA make his money as a bookie?

If RA got his fortune handicapping games, then I'm on board for a win against LaTech. I do appreciate the budding optimism on this board after our debacle last week against Rice. Hope does spring eternal doesn't it. I will be cheering for a win.

Eddie P, you are most agreeable in your concurrence today. My only prediction for this game is jtstang tossing back a few cold ones on the 'vard prior to kickoff.

The money line for SMU is +300 . Maybe it would be a nice bet! Go Ponies!

I will be taking the money line n this.....not very heavy put probably $1K or so.

I will most definitely be taking the points for my bigger wager. If La Tech puts a beating on us, I might put my Rolls into White Rock Lake.

RA's plays (hold me to these):

Cal -14' vs. UCLA
Georgia -23 vs. Vanderbilt
ND -6' at Navy
SMU +9' vs. La Tech
Auburn -13 vs. Ark
Rutgers -13 vs. Temple

Happy Trading.

Louisiana Tech 35 - SMU 21

Ryan Moats gets 200 yards rushing.

Rich alum leaves at half time looking for a drink.

Go Dawgs, Go WAC!
