Mustang Band CD

Post by MustangSally »

The Mustang Band just finished recording a new CD, but it doesn't have a name yet. Spit out some ideas, we would really appreciate it. My favorites so far are Hits from the Hilltop and Campus Classics.

Do you think we like being small? Hell no. The problem is all the people that were big into band in high school and want to continue usually go into Meadows, where they advise them NOT to join the Mustang Band. They use the reasoning that an hour practicing for Mustang Band is an hour you could be practicing a concert piece that would be much more to your advantage. Also, we used to be able to give scholarships (many people got full rides) to the area's best players. But over the years, tuition increased drastically and the budget for the band was slashed over and over. What is left for us to recruit is kids that are already at SMU, didn't want to go into music as a major, but still want to do marching band. So, if you feel that the band needs to be back at 96 guys, then feel free to donate some money to the Diamond M Club. They would appreciate your support.

Sally,

that was more of a shot at the admin. than at the band itself.

I am a student, and cannot afford to make any donations at the moment. I hope they do become a large band, I would love to see it.

Sorry if I offended you.

ALL4SMU,
Sorry I jumped all over you, I guess I am used to the hostility of the other board. I made the wrong assumption you were knocking the band. By the way, since you are a student, feel free to join the band! Image You don't need to know how to play anything, seriously, they will take time and teach you cymbals or something. And there is the possibility of a small amount of scholarship money.

How about getting Kelan Lukar to play some bass on the track and it can be called "SMU Submursed"
For those not "in the know" Submursed is his band he somehow manages to find time to play in b/w football practice, eating doughnuts, going to class, and band practice.
