If we don't have a solid crowd for UCF...

Postby Pony ^ » Sun Oct 02, 2011 3:45 pm

I'm going to lose my mind. I assume we will get the 6pm slot and the crowd should be pumped. If we can't come close to a sellout for that game then we have a problem. No to mention, we have 2 weeks to talk it up and get some people in the seats.

What is yall's attendance prediction?

So you expect an extra 12k people to walk up and buy tickets to the game? Thats bold. I am just hoping for a solid 25k+ in the stadium.

Well at least we aren't going to be going down to College Station only to be drubbed 66-to something next week like the last time we beat the Frogs. We haven't been in this position in awhile coming off a signature win with a home game coming up. I've been disappointed before by SMU fans ...

i bet we have a good crowd relatively speaking (20-22k), but i think you guys are overestimating the name value of UCF to people who are not college football and ponyfans junkies.

Yea it will be a bit of a struggle because UCF does not travel well. With 2 weeks of aggresive promotion I think we can see 27-30k

Fall break is during the bye week also which is really good. Wouldn't be surprised to see 500 or so more students than usual. Maybe more.

At least for the first half. The game time will dictate that a bit. If it is a night game you could see the student section full for probably the whole game.

Texas/OU is also during our bye which helps a lot.

I think the UCF game should be sellout, come on we are talking about a re-match with the Conference Champion at Home in Early October with an SMU team that is receiving votes in the Top25 and you guys think we won't break 20,000 fans?

Operation Sellout should work on calling every Dallas Area Alum to remind them about the Game!

UCF did win the conference last year and beat Georgia in the liberty bowl. I agree with you that a lot of casual fans might not think of them like the people on this board, but I think anyone who follows smu football loosely probably remembers us losing to them in the conf. championship game last year. guess we'll see

Ucf travelled their band -or at least a smaller ensemble of it-to BYU. Wonder if they'll do the same to Dallas

That is nice with Fall Break and Tx/OU on the same weekend...probably helps a little. Good scheduling SMU! - I know we have bitched about a game being on TX/OU for many years.
