Signature win

Postby Dutch » Sun Oct 02, 2011 7:58 pm

ok, i'm not trying to be a downer here, but when can we stop calling this a "signature" win. we should expect to win every game. this was a rivalry game, and important for the team, fans, alumni, etc.

I'm so happy that we won this game i can barely contain myself, but calling this a "signature" win devalues the talent we have by implying that this win was above them.

What did Reinebold say?

WE STARTED BEATING TCU FOUR YEARS AGO WHEN WE CAME TO SMU

It's one game. Build on it and move on. Stage one complete.

Asking so I understand what is a signature win. Please define what it is and if SMU has had any based on your definition. It might mean different things to other people.

i guess i don't understand WHY we need signature wins. just WIN. we shouldn't need defining wins. they devalue what you have by saying you played beyond your natural ability.

EXPECT to win these games, don't let them be benchmarks.
