Remedy for Slick Ford Turf

Postby Bergermeister » Mon Oct 03, 2011 2:40 pm

On the way to the Radisson today I saw HUGE bags of turf BBs at the top of the Mockingbird ramp at Ford. Stopped by afterwards to check it out and they were retrieving the original pellets (vacuuming them outta the turf) and dumping them in a bin. Quite an operation. I guess "they" determined that was the problem. :D

Sure was nice to see a nice grass field this past weekend. I guess they don't play as much HS football there as we do?

Dont see why we can't have grass as well, although I'm sure we saved some $$ during this drought....

I was wondering what all those bags were. Didn't realize it took so much to fill the field. There were at least 40 gigantic bags of that stuff.

Didn't we used to have grass but it was too expensive to maintain?

The reason they have grass in their stadium is because they have an artificial surface to practice on in their indoor facility.

When it's wet and muddy, our only artificial surface is Ford Stadium.
