Absolutely right. If we have the opportunity, redshirting each OL is vital. We might not have that chance with six guys graduating this year, but if we can, we should. One of the best things about this young season is that Taylor Lasecki, Taylor Reich, Dontae Levingston and Kris Weeks haven't played yet (although I think Reich has traveled, hasn't he?) If we can get each of these guys a year working with Coach Klemm and a year in the weight room, we could be pretty solid up front in the future.

Welcome to SMU, Seaver!

I wouldn't count on Westbrook, but I'm sure hoping Butler jumps on board soon and commits.

I firmly believe you build a good team up front first. This is a significant OL commit simply based on his ranking and list of offers. #67 in the state of Texas is a quaility BCS level recruit.

Thanks everyone...and yes, my wife Sue and I were at the Players Parent's Tailgate and the guys from The Stampede came by and interviewed some of us. We love that show-watch it here every week...such a great way to see all the hard work and fun the players and coaches have weekly-and the fans too!!

Taylor is working really hard in school and on the practice field. Since he was in high school he has played three sports a year (Football, Basketball, and Baseball) and he never was able to concentrate on one sport-especially weight lifting for football...so just wait and see what a year will bring-we saw a change in just the month and a half when we last visited him...also, from a recruiting stand point, Taylor was a very well known and respected student athlete in San Diego and I can tell you...there are many more potential recruits here. His opportunity and presence at SMU has greatly increased the attention and desire for these kids to look at SMU for an opportunity to play at the next level there...They are waiting for Coach Klemm to come a callin!! :-)

Yes, welcome. As someone who grew up in CA, I believe Taylor will enjoy his time at SMU and Dallas. Thanks, and...

"He told them Sunday night," Mustang head coach Steve Van Meter said. "He’s liked SMU all along, and after they beat TCU on the road Saturday, he liked them even better."

Man I love reading that quote.

Also in the article it reveals that he had a knee injury in 2010. Maybe that is why some bigger schools shied away from a no-doubt Texas Top 100 player. I'd love to redshirt every linemen we recruit, but I think he's a candidate to play very early for us at tackle.
