most of them haven't been around their program very long
I lot of us have, and those that know the history- know what a great rivalry this is. Will it ever be TX-OU? No- and I wouldn't want it to be. We both have some t-shirt fans, but I have found most true fans on both sides to be respectful of both teams and programs. I always pull for SMU when they are not playing the Frogs- while their are some differences, I would say we are more similar than not. Congrats on a nice win, and best of luck the rest of the year.

ok, just curious, what is the opinion over in Fort Worth of the new rumors about the Big East having an interest in SMU for their announced expansion plans?
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

By "most of them" I meant most of the fans that don't see it as a rivalry. Thanks for the classy post. Good luck to you guys in your final season in the MWC

That was the exact response that shut them up. They did not know how to come back.

TCU has been successful in getting the local Ft Worth folks to support them, but that leads to a real mix of people. If we can once again become Dallas' college team expect to see similar types at our games. It comes with having a successful program, but don't paint the TCU fans with too broad a brush...most of them are just like us...they love their alma mater. Just ignore the a_holes.
This is a trend at any high-profile U, the overblown RIOT at ROSE BOWL last year was attributed to USC and UCLA supporters who have never seen the inside of a classroom at either. Everyone here should give TCU a "shout out" for none of this SMU to a BCS conference would probably have occurred so quickly without their FB performance.

yea, but it is hard to tell sell outs based on attendance. we almost sold out UTEP, but our attendance was well below that.

It was sold out and SRO. Official seated capacity of Amon Carter this year is 32,000 and the announced attendance was 35,000+

I saw a lot of empty seats, those figures are not real

I think the younger set isn't happy about it. I think the rest of us are taking a wait and see attitude as it pertains to all this conference stuff- regardless of what we do, we are not in the drivers seat. All we can do is sell tickets, finish the stadium, and win some games- and let the chips fall where they will. I would say the same pertains to SMU. Win, fill your stadium, and hope for the best.

Well it was "sold" out as those were "tickets sold" numbers. Full? No. Sold out? Yes.

they didnt fill it up, that's my point and as far as im concerned that's what equals "Sold out" whether that aligns w/ the real definition or not

It was a BIG sports day around DFW. I bet there were a good number of unused tix.
This. A movie theater that seats 250 sells out when they sell 250 tickets. Doesn't matter if a family of five decides to spend the day at Six Flags instead of going to see Lion King 3D, they still bought the tickets and it's still sold out.
