Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingMan the cheapest of the cheap shots is when some loser complains because excited fans on the other team run on the field and celebrate and chants SMU or whatever after a Classic victory. That's part of the beauty of the game and I've been on both sides bitterly disappointed or ecstatic. TCU danced on our grave when we lost that Bowl opportunity. Let em dance- Don't get mad-get even.

Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in Writing
pure gold
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingDidn't Fatterson say right after the game "I can't answer questions right now, we have to prepare for a better team, next week". That would be SDSU. Then, he goes off like this on a very innocuous comment by Jones. Whiney little weiner. I know he's trying to take the eyes off his players and showing he has their back vis-a-vis the refs, but this is pretty bad. Remember MWC and CUSA shares refs. So, some of these guys may show up again for a MWC game at a field other than ACS, where Fatterson has PMS.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingI agree with previous comments, that this tirade has more to do with the recent news about SMU being considered for the Big East. The only way he could have been insulted by June's comments were if the media read it to him out of context. Not sure why he would be so butthurt.
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingHe's just upset because he knows that TCU's days of ruling the metroplex are over...
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingCan we get an ad in DFW saying the football monopoly in DFW is over?
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingNo put it in the FWST-Patterson is famous for reading all the newspapers

Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in Writing
Exactly
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingDid we ever get the actual JJ statement - I don't believe it was the pre game but the post game where he said on the TD pass that we knew what TCU would be doing on defense... Pretty thin skinned response to no matter what the other guy said.
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingI can not argue about the referees, I think CUSA referees are some of the worst in college football.
When the opposing QB throws for 400+ yards against your defense I think belly aching about the officiating and how you interpret what the opposing coach is saying should be the least of your worries. GO MUSTANGS!
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingSome June Jones quotes from post game...
"They did a great job, they're coaching over there too" "Gary is a good man, a good guy. He's done a fantastic....We, we want to be like this. We want a stadium like this. We want all the facilities. They made that decision 10 or 14 years ago when he came.
Re: FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingAfter watching this again, why on earth is GP mad? I seriously don't understand it.
FWST: Patterson Quotes in WritingBecause he's so insecure that he can't even give credit where credit is due. Even when June's staff repeatedly treats Patterson with nothing less than the greatest respect, he can't reconcile losing even one game out of 10 to the Mustangs. It's not like our staff is loaded with ex-NFL talent (oh wait, it is) and a former NCAA coach of the year who is generally considered an offensive genius (oh wait, we have that too), and it's not like he's facing a team who's school administration is still languishing in a culture of mediocrity.
Had Patterson lost to some nameless slouch, he still should have shown the good sportsmanship to lose with dignity and use the loss as motivation to improve next time. Losing to a good competitor, he could have used the loss to teach character. Instead he taught his team to shirk responsibility, and take the cowardly way out by blaming the loss on others. Pathetic. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
