There's a kid at SA Reagan that is 6'2.75" 185lbs and ran two 4.47s at camps this past summer that would love to play at SMU from what his dad has said. I've watched this kid for 3 years and he's started on varsity since he was a soph. His team predominantly runs the ball but he's their go to guy when they throw and can go deep with the best of them. Great hands, fast, makes big plays and pretty good size and went to SMU's junior day last year(among other BCS schools) and been to smu camps the last two years. Supposedly at the one last year, WR coach Reingold? was really really impressed with him. His dad played WR at Texas, fwiw.

He's white, and from what I'm told, that's the sticking point with BCS schools, which I can't understand for the life of me. 4.47 is still 4.47 no matter the color.

Would that be Austin Hays?

I'm confused. if this kid has been to 2 SMU camps, and if Reinbold was, in fact, ''really, really impressed", why are you having to sell this kid on this board? shouldn't he already have an offer from us? or, shouldn't he have an open dialogue with the coaching/recruiting staff? or, is there probably one or two significant downsides to his evaluation?
I'm pretty sure the coaching staff doesn't rely on the posters on this board to critically evaluate potential players. why not contact them directly?

Welcome to the board crownroyal. I truly don't know how SMU recruits, or other schools for that matter. Can you explain what we do differently than others?
