It looks better from an outside perspective in my opinion.
Disagree, I thought it was great. The placement was also perfect.

Not arguing with the placement at all, they clearly had a good spot.
I just think it looks silly to plop a sign down and it just screams, "hello, I am in some way employed by the SMU athletic dept and we had this sign professionally created to sit here on college gameday to promote our push for a move to a BCS conference." Would like to see maybe some sign point to SMU over TCU or just a general SMU looking sign. Just something a little more natural looking, as if our fan base went out to do this, not the athletic dept.
Maybe that is just me looking at it from an SMU perspective where I am negative about things like this. Over the years I have developed an unfortunate general dislike for most things our mkting dept does.

Exactly. People [deleted] about having no marketing, and here was an inexpensive way to get our brand and message out to tens of thousands of fans. Sorry it looked so slick and well done.

I agree with smusic and smu89. Obeymydog, sounds like you have a pretty definite idea of how it should be done so rather than griping about others doing it a little differently than you would, you should put your money where your mouth is and get down there with the "right" signs. I look forward to seeing it.
I do not think many average people who are not on this board saw those signs and thought "clearly those are SMU employees.". They might have thought it was an organized effort, but there is nothing wrong with that.

Can someone please go to GameDay with a sign that says: "Gary Patterson Ate Mangino"
--maybe with a milk carton "missing" photo of mangino

I have about 10 flags, if I can get some fellow Mustangs to go with me, we
could go to college gameday and wave our flags.

By the way, the UT/OU game is at the Cotton Bowl isnt it? ESPN graphics today keep insisting the game will be played at Jerryworld. Would hate for people to show up at the wrong place just because ESPN doesnt know where the game is played.

Re-Posting an RBA email: Red And Blue Army:
ESPN’s College Gameday will be airing from the Texas State Fair in front of the Cotton Bowl for the Texas-OU game. I am sure many of you recall the "SMU2B12" signs that were displayed the last time ESPN Gameday game to DFW. A few of us were able to help with that effort, and I have no doubt they'll be there again, but now that RBA has more than doubled in size from that time, I'd like to lend more help. RBA members are planning on leaving early for the Fair to get on SMU on Gameday. The set will be in front of the Texas Hall of State, presumably in front of the Esplanade. With the turbulent atmosphere of conference realignment swirling around right now, there might never be a more important time for Mustang fans to be seen, heard and talked about than right now. If you would like to join, please email me and let me know so we can better organize. And bring friends!
RBA will be going out there, and taking as many with us as we can. If anyone has creative sign ideas, post them here. Also, BIGHORSE, we would really appreciate the flags. I can pick them up and drop them off, unless of course you're going. Does anyone know who is on the SMU2BCS campaign? We could combine efforts with them as well. OBEYMyDOG, I hope you can be there as well.

I'll be on a bus down there in the morning with all my UT friends. I'll make it by if there isn't a human wall 1 mile deep like there usually is. I think I get there pretty damn early.
