Jerseys

Postby SmooPower » Fri Feb 08, 2002 4:58 pm

Hi all,

I've been searching and can't seem to find any jerseys from SMU that I could wear at next year's games. The Spirit Shop says they won't have any until football starts but I am impatient. Does anyone know where one could purchase, if possible, a SMU replica jersey. Thanks!

I don't think the demand is great enough to find them anywhere else. I would try and be patient and wait on the legendary Bob Sharp at the Spirit Shop.

...But don't hold your breath. I've been trying to get a hold of one for years. I think the ones that Bob will have are actual game jerseys that the players wore last year. Of course, players get first pick if they want to keep their jersey, so when he does get them, they will be in limited supply.

Pennington's Jersey was sold on Ebay by some guy who bought out a bunch of the old equipment and uniforms. It went for $70! I wonder if Pennington knew about it. He could have autographed it for at least another $25.

I purchased the jersey and I bow to it every night before bed. It hangs over my bed.

That's funnty locostang. Wonder who would buy such a thing. I mean Penny was a great player and all, but who wants his jersey. Must be one of those psycho Pierce girls!

I did some research on ebay as to who bought JP's jersey. It turns out that the handle with the highest bid was J.JOST, I can only assume it was Jost the former strength coach. We all wondered about JP and Jost because when JP would bench press he only allowed Jost to spot him. He would say "if I am going to have anybodys ball near my face it would be Jost". Then there were all the late night work-outs they would have after practice. Even stranger was the time Cash walked in on them at 5:00 A.M. on a sunday morning and they were lifting weights in a spedo. They were doing jerk and pull at the time. I am not implying anything but.....

If this is the same P-Train, and I don't know if it is, he was a scrub backup linebacker that only played about three plays a year. Talking about weight room stories, P-Train #$%@ on himself while working out on the squat machine one day in the weightroom. Cavan gave him a scholarship because he felt sorry for the kid.

Hey M-Maverick, When P-Train was busting his a-- in the weightroom and going through three years of two-a-days, where were you. Playing ability aside, at least he had the balls to get on the field and compete with what he had.

Talk about blasting players.

"Even stranger was the time Cash walked in on them at 5 am and they were lifting weights in a speedo. They were doing jerk and pull at the time. I am not implying anything, but....."

Now, I didn't like the way Jost handled the players either, but Penny was a class act and a lot better athlete than Paul ever was. On top of that, Penny also had one of the strongest work ethics on the team.

Texastang, is there any way to be sure that I was not on that same field? I also highly doubt that either of you, Texastang or "Paul, I am not who I say I am, Wiley" where out there.

As for Paul, I never said that he didn't work his [deleted] off, but the fact still remains that he travelled only because he was a senior. He was not even on special teams. I also know from having talked with the kid that you never wanted to get him started about his playing ability, because he would go on and on about his
"HIGHSCHOOL" years.

Paul, I said I am not the real Paul, Wiley - if you think for one second that I am going to apologize for my post, your dead wrong. As for your circle of friends or "BALLERS", you might just be suprised if you find out who I am. If you are just joking then you need to be more clear in your posts about the tone of the post, and not get bent out of shape when someone else blasts your posts.

M-Maverick,
Good argument, you made a lot of clear points. I still simply think that blasting Paul in this chat room, in the manner it was done, was a little much. It's one thing if a player deserves it, but he really doesen't.
The reason I assumed you weren't a player is that we, as players, can just tell. So good try on the bluff.
