you're right, just go safe and add Missouri. Adding Missouri is not even as good as adding Illinois though. Besides a potential small regional rivalry between Arkansas and Missouri, adding Missouri does nothing strategic for the SEC whatsoever other than just filling out the league.

RE Tycoon wrote:There is no doubt in my mind that if this SEC thing is real, Jerry will be one of the driving forces behind it. SEC title game for sure at Jerry World and he may be thinking some of our home games as well. If we couldn't do all games at Ford, I would prefer Cotton Bowl for obvious reasons (Doak built it, close to campus).
The thrill of being in Jerry world just for the sake of being there is starting to wain. Look at the Baylor-TTech series there, number were way down last year. Big12 may not have a championship game for several years depending on what happens. Big12 schools can now play at TCU to play in the DFW. Getting the SEC to play there is very much in Jerry's interest. If we give up one or two games a year to Jerry World, not necessarily home games, could be "neutral site" games against the larger SEC teams, that would be in his interest. Cotton Bowl makes a better atmosphere, is in Dallas, and students can blvd and take the dart (to avoid DUIs) to get there, but this may be something we give up for the short to get into the SEC. That's fine with me even though personally I don't prefer it, and have never seen the real draw outside of it being new. Been to several games there, bowl and conference, great stadium but has never been an over the top experience. Sort of an artificial college atmosphere feel, not to mention the cost.
