Vandy, may not look like they lower their standards, but they get around that by pushing/forcing athletes to major in certain programs. This way they can take less academically qualified students and ensure they pass, because they have created these certain majors. Often pushing smart (not that the others are dumb) athletes into a major they never intended to select because it works better with football.

Scare the Big XII-II-I+I (primarily Texas) into thinking their lock on the states recruits could be in jeopardy. And that A$M is even more clever to screw UT than previously thought.
And it might also get the Big X +II off its behind to expand into a rich recruiting and media market.
Hopium is not free.

How good of a standing does Turner have with Ole Miss and its booster? He left after firing the popular head coach (ncaa violations) and but was still there when Tuberville (not the best history with Ole Miss) was hired.
Oh okay, I thought it may have referred to SEC president Mike Silve.
A lot of SEC guys wear bowties. Former Alabama and South Carolina president Andrew Sorensen (who passed away earlier this year) wore a bowtie every day. But yes, I was referring to the Aggie pres in my post.

My comment was a dig at sec academic standards or lack there of, should have been more clear about it.
