Stupid Question

Postby SMUCox00 » Wed Oct 20, 2004 3:00 pm

Are we going to change the floor to Moody for the new Tubbs era? I like the Pony at midcourt but not a fan of the inverse colors in the lane/3 point line....

We should paint the entire floor blue, ala Boise St.

Welcome to SMU's Moody Coliseum, the "Smurf Court"

just kidding

Not this year, but there will probably be some changes before the first season in CUSA.

What changes will there be before we start playing in CUSA? Other than the conference decals, I mean. Anyone know?

I too would like to recommend a cleaner, classier look with ONE predominant color-BLUE-offset perhaps by RED lettering and Pony. The present floor looks like a Junior College.

The Pony w/ a HUGE stencil of the new 'block' SMU (like on the side of the semi parked at Amon G. for the TCU game) would be nice.

The bigger question is when can we expect Moody to be rennovated? Wonderful facility when it was built but with CUSA we get better teams and greater recruiting competiton. We need to be in the game, including a practice facility, recognizing that we have Men and Women teams competing for time and space.

Not to mention Volleyball.

The Pony at mid court is too big. The floor does look at little JC.

On the rare occasions that the Moody floor has made it on TV, the big Mustang looks really cool. But you're right - in person, it's a little much.

I love the giant pony, but I do think the color scheme for the rest of the court could use some work. Keep the giant pony though.
