I mean geez....really??....Chicken little always rears his head.....woe is me, the sky is falling. Lets just shut the program down...
i think the Big East would take as many as 12-14 schools who are willing to play football only. They need a championship game for visibility. they can't be as arrogant as the Big12.

Amen, might as well just lock up the doors of the football offices. It's all over!! 3 years ago would this thread even exist? - NOPE

I get a big kick out of someone's "OMG IT'S THE NIGHTMARE SCENARIO TAKING PLACE!!! WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY WITH UTSA, UNT, LA TECH, AND TROY. WE NEED TO BULLDOZE THE STADIUM AND TURN IT IN TO A CRICKET FIELD."
I don't know why Southern Miss shouldn't be in the picture-a lot of times they aren't mentioned but they've had a strong program for decades. I would think they would be a no-brainer if the Football schools are voting. I can see resistence from BB schools. Plus as bad as Memphis is right now they have a lot of history with Louisville, Cinncinnati etc.

"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Because they deliver no market whatsoever. Boise State has had a significantly better program for the past ten years and is in a slightly larger market and still hasn't gotten a sniff from an AQ conference- why would USM?

I'm so glad your standards for athletic competition are playing the utsa's,unt's and troy's of the world. Some of us can remember when we actually played (and competed against) top level D-1 teams.

GO PONIES!!!
Yes, that's exactly what I meant, you nailed it. My standards are for SMU to wind up in a conference with those benchmark institutions. What an astute inference from my comments.
