This won't be popular and I preface this with I'm extremely excited to have Prescott here and think he will do well, but don't get caught up with high school rushing numbers. Wes Danaher rushed for 8,855 yards in high school and did absolutely nothing at SMU. Wes was a good guy but his game never translated in college.

If Prescott is anything like his brother, however, I don't think we will have a problem.

I wasnt suggesting he would win the heisman, but over 1800 yards in 7 games is more encouraging than have 83 yards in 7 games if my math is correct.

I doubt anyone would expect him to produce the same numbers here as he did in high school. I personally know very little about the competition of high schools outside of Texas. He is an ok high school running back, but more importantly he has a brother that has made a good transition to college and showed character and perseverance by the bucket load. He might not even be the running back, but if his character is similar to his brother he will find a way to the field. I think that is what has most people excited.

The Line family will be like our Selmon family connection at Oklahoma...lol The Line family is just really tough and dedicated. That comes from the patriarch......daddy Line.

As someone that has watched both Zach and Prescott play in several of their high school football games and participate in many wrestling matches, they are very similar and you can expect the same type of success from Prescott when he arrives in town.

Additionally, I realize that these overall leading statistics are from high school, but they have been accumulated against the highest level of Michigan High School Athletics and from the state's toughest division with several D-1 commitments.

Thanks for the post! I hope Prescott can get a redshirt year, but it would have been cool to have the Line brothers in action (together).

Put one in as a lead blocker. I know its not our style but I would hate to get run over by those two...

Have yet to see a two back run and shoot. Most two back formations have the QB under center except for a shotgun full protect. Not that exciting and QB + center would have little practice doing under center snaps. Perhaps some sort of Pistol-two back plays to quickly switch into to throw off the defense. But this is just armchair talk.

***Can you pass this announcement to your football team, student body, parents, coaches, and faculty members***

Oxford senior Prescott Line is a candidate for the Metro PCS - Mr. Football Award.  You can vote for Prescott by going to www.statechamps.tv/mrfootball

At the end of the season, the top vote getter will earn an automatic berth into the final four.  Simply receiving the most votes does not automatically make that person Mr. Football, but it does increase the players chance of winning by 20 percent.  Have fun and vote often!
