A Conference adding this many teams has to do it in stages so they get what they want. Weakens CUSA making it even easier decision for other CUSA teams

As long as we are part of a stage.

we get a bump from UTEP, but I suspect Rice, Tulsa and Tulane would outdraw Nova, Temple and CT.
point is attendance will still be an issue. Don't know if you were around during the SWC days, but having Ark, the Aggies and UT was a lot of fun....we need at least 1 or 2 big draws and the BE will not deliver that...not that I am complaining if we get a BCS offer.

Yep, Joe Schad just tweeted that UCF is strongly being considered as 1st choice for BE expansion.

If we were to get a BE invite, I sincerely hope we get a big bump in basketball interest (attendance).
Re: According to ESPN: SMU target of BE, not AFA
i think that the BE schools at least have more recognizable names than some of the CUSA teams we face. especially for undergrads coming from the northeast, or even west coast. even Cali kids have heard of these schools b/c of hoops. brand recognition means something. if it gets some undergrads out to games b/c they've heard of UCONN, WVU, etc, then all the better. 18 year olds from NYC & LA don't know anything about SoMiss, Marshall, Memphis.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Lost in all this conference reshuffle is that fact that there will still be BCS busters. Now that TCU is in the Big 12, ask yourselves when will be the next time we see TCU in a BCS bowl? Last time I checked, OU, OSU, and UT rule the conference. Always have always will. Just ask Utah how they are liking the Pac-12. Ball State for crying out loud was knocking on the door of an at-large bid in 2008.

Assuming the remaining 6 BE schools are locked in, UCF will take them to 7 with a natural partner of USF, who has always looked out of place far removed from the NE.
So, if 12 FB members are their publicly expressed goal, how do you fill in the balance? If AFA is truly available, give them western partners, Houston and SMU. The final two? Navy and Temple.

At least one prominent voice in college football will concede the obvious.
"What are we talking about here?" Boise State head coach Chris Peterson told Brian Murphy of the Idaho Statesman. "We're talking about money. That's what they've got to figure out. Who's going to be in the league anyway when it's all said and done? It's all this if, if, if, if," Petersen said Monday.
"But if the money thing all makes sense -- that's been the big issue with all this stuff -- then I think you take the next step."
And the Big East Conference is talking expansion with Boise State. The New York Post reported the Big East is set to invite both Boise State and Temple to join the league.
"For us, it's not that big of a deal (with) how we travel," Peterson continued. "You get on a plane, you charter. You're in and out. You're on a plane four hours instead of two. Whatever. All that's doable."
