Between the NFL teams and UT's footprint, it's hard to look at conference in the eye and say, "We can bring you the DFW market with our program." I wish it were different, but that's just not the case.

We may not be able to deliver the whole market, but right now the BE, for instance, has none of the market. There are actually a lot of Yankees that have moved down here who would love to go to a BE game in Dallas and the BE teams would get some exposure to Texas recruits. We are not totally devoid of value to the BE...or the SEC for that matter.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
