All State RB Russell Ball of LaMarque who committed to Florida St early in the summer was injured during his first game. He CLAIMS FSU will honor his commitment but then says he's decided to check around-but the only one calling is TCU. WARNING SIGN-Injured players don't back off commitments from FSU if he is sure that they will honor the commitment. SMU needs to jump on this potential superstar from Wilton McCray's high school in case the Seminoles back off. This was one of the first kids SMU offered in this recruiting class.

I don't think he's related to Jerry Ball. Not sure who Jackie Ball is.

I agree, if we could pry him away from the 'Noles, it might be WELL worth it. Everything I've seen written about the guy makes him sound pretty amazing.

Jackie Ball is either Jerry's brother or cousin. He played fullback for Baylor in the early eighties.
