Running backs

Postby PonyFan » Sat Feb 16, 2002 8:08 pm

I would assume ShanDerrick Charles is the starter until we learn otherwise. And Keylon Kincade supposedly has found a new work ethic in the last couple of months. With those two, and with all the fanfare around Anthony Barnett (assuming he doesn't move to WR), does this mean we've seen the last of Kris Briggs?

I think Bennett will try and redshirt all he can. With the depth at RB and WR, I think it would be pointless to play Barnett, unless he will really carry the team.

Bennett did say everyone has an equal chance of playing and he is prepared to start winning in his first year, so I guess what really matters is the talent of Barnett.

Bennett has also said there may be a little option in the offense. If that is the case, looks like we may have a few RB's playing.

With all the receivers graduating this year, does this mean that Anthony Barnett will definitely get a look at wide receiver?

I think we all agree that ShanDerrick Charles is the starting RB. But what about his backup? Jason Pipkins is gone. Who gets the rest of the snaps? Briggs or Kincade? Personally, I like Kincade, because with his quickness, the blockers wouldn't have to adjust as much as they would with Briggs running the ball.
